The service

YouPress is a live journalism platform. Reporters stream live reports from the scene; the platform records the streams with authenticity metadata (GPS location, time, reporter identity) and allows their publication. Uploading external videos is not possible: only recordings of live streams made on the platform can be published.

Accounts and roles

• Signing up is free. Anyone can watch free content.
• An account is required to comment, follow reporters or unlock premium content.
• Becoming a reporter is an explicit choice and implies accepting the editorial rules and providing a city (used to place you on the reporters map).

Editorial and conduct rules (for reporters)

• Stream only real events you are witnessing; no invented, manipulated or unverified content.
• GPS is mandatory and the report location cannot be edited.
• Respect the privacy and image rights of the people you film; do not film private property without consent.
• Illegal, violent or hateful content, or content that endangers people, is forbidden.
• Violations may lead to content removal and account suspension.

Credits and payments

Credits are the in-platform currency used to unlock premium content and to commission live reports. The reference value is 1 credit = €0.10. Credits can be bought in packs through our payment provider Stripe.

Current phase: the platform runs in a test/sandbox configuration. Payments are processed in Stripe test mode and do not involve real money; credits are used only to try out how the platform works. Real payments will be enabled, with prior notice and an updated version of these terms, before public launch.

Premium content and pay-per-view

Reporters can make a report free or premium (pay-per-view). Unlocking a premium report spends the indicated amount of credits and grants you permanent access to that report. The price is shown before you confirm: fixed price, no surprises.

Live requests

If a reporter enables it, viewers can request a paid live at a fixed price set by the reporter. The credits are held when you send the request and are transferred to the reporter only if they accept; if the reporter declines, the credits are refunded to your wallet. Reporters remain editorially independent and are free to decline.

Reporter earnings and payouts

• On each pay-per-view unlock and accepted live request, YouPress retains a 20% platform commission; the reporter receives the remaining 80% in credits.
• Reporters can request a payout to convert their credit balance into euros (1 credit = €0.10), subject to a minimum amount.
• Payouts are handled through Stripe Connect: the reporter connects their own bank account with Stripe, which processes the transfer. YouPress does not store the reporter's banking details.
• In the current phase payouts run in Stripe test mode and do not move real money.

Responsibility for content

Reports express the point of view of the reporters who create them. YouPress provides authenticity verification tools (GPS, time, identity) and reporting tools, and reserves the right to remove content that violates these terms or the law.

Intellectual property

Reporters keep the rights to their content and grant YouPress a license to host, distribute and promote it on the platform.
